Oliver Eade has the surest of touch, getting straight to the heart of people’s yearnings, triumphs and sadnesses, and each of the 40-or-so unique and beautifully-written stories gives the reader much to think about, and pleasure!
I thoroughly enjoyed reading these stories and have re-read a few of them. Some are amusing, some thoughtful, some poignant. All of them have a wonderful mix of people, events and situations. I particularly enjoyed Old Grandmother, a tale from China and The Soul Sweeper, a wry look at the afterlife. It's a joy to read well written stories that entertain.
