Bigfoot Galaxy Expedition eBook Eric Kent Edstrom
A hike in the Canadian Rockies sounds like fun, doesn't it? Not for six troubled teenagers. The scenery might be beautiful but aching feet and hurting bodies have all of its own demands.Besides which, the hike guide seems all too worried about some strange shrieks following them, as if it/them are hunting for them. And it is getting closer all the time!
That is but the start of an amazing action adventure that will take these kids to places and events they could never have imagined in a hidden world that defies every cryptozoology tenet so far formulated.
The story is full of surprises and hair raising escapades for these youngsters. The necessity of acting as a unified group forces a close bond between five of them. Adversity also molds each character differently, turning problem children into ones you would proudly like to call your own.
I loved this fast paced innovative YA fantasy. Enjoy!

Bigfoot Galaxy Expedition eBook Eric Kent Edstrom Reviews
Undermountain is a creative and fascinating take on an old (and sort of boring) legend. It combines a potentially real-world scenario -- a group of kids on a parent-sanctioned back woods hike -- with the legend of Bigfoot in an easily believable manner. AND it adds a fun sci-fi twist that made me wonder if there really could be another world hidden a mile beneath my feet...
As far as I'm aware, this is the Edstrom's first novel. While the introduction of the characters in the first few (short) chapters seemed a little slow, the author quickly found his writing style and easily continued developing the characters' personalities and uniqueness along with creating a very detailed environment and action-packed storyline. He also added some humorous yet subtle pop culture references that made me feel like I had found an Easter egg in a video game whenever I discovered one.
All in all, Undermountain is an enjoyable read appropriately detailed, good character development, and a fun, creative, and action-packed story. I'm looking forward to the next books in the series and expect, like Undermountain, to be unable to put the book down until the final page.
This may be listed as young adult, but I loved reading it! The writing itself is well done. The premise of the story is very creative and interesting, as well. I like the kids and the guide that the story atarts with. They have well developed characters.
Truly, I had a hard time putting this story down, though I should have been doing other things! I checked the minute I finished, and there are sequels! Yes! When I can, I'm definitely reading book 2.
I was given a copy of this from Story Cartel in exchange for my honest review.
This was suggested to me by a friend at work and I'm soooo glad i listened, I'm 30 but i would much rather read a well written youth book then some of the smut that goes into adult novels, can't wait to read the next!
Bigfoot? The abominable snowman? If you love these guys, you have to read this book! Edstrom weaves a tale that makes these rarely seen creatures believable! Are they related? Where do they live? Why haven't more people spotted them? All of these questions and more are answered and woven into a tale of six young people on a hike through the Canadian mountains. How would an encounter with a Bigfoot change you? Edstrom answers that question and more in this exciting and fun adventure!
The first, and perhaps only, real test for a book is whether at some point one arrives at a state where putting it down, uncompleted, no longer makes itself comfortably available. Travelling on several flights from Montana to Hawaii, I had more than my share of opportunities to put the book aside. And since I was travelling with an ipad and an iPhone, fully loaded with music, computer programming books, investment books, as well as several videos, it was not for want of alternatives that kept me with it (not to mention the delayed takeoff for which the pilot provided us free access to over 100 channels of DirecTV, the turbulence which kept us lavatory-free, and the child behind me who, well... made it difficult to concentrate). Which is to say, somewhere along the line I found myself hooked and unwilling to set it aside for some other possible activity. For that reason alone UnderMountain deserves 5-stars.
However, there are other facets that also need to be called out that serve to solidify my rating. One of which was the author's somewhat bizarre sense of humor, or irony. It was with great delight that I was told just what was the actual destiny of that BigFoot we've all seen in that grainy movie clip. Likewise, it was that same somewhat sardonic humor which enlivened the teenagers' dialogue and gave it a realism that is difficult to capture by an adult.
I found the author kept the pace of the book moving along nicely, sometimes speeding up with rapid paced dialogue or character action and sometimes slowing down to allow the reader to `catch up' and digest the events. It was, as it were, a bit like surfing in that the storyline always kept moving forward, bringing one with it, though there were often occasions for a lateral drift or perspective change to give depth and reorientation.
In short, this novel is a fun read that moves along quickly and has enough twists and turns to keep the reader involved all the way through to the ending. It is a book that is easy to recommend, and easy to give 5-stars.
Wow! What a great read, chocked full of action and page-turning suspense. The ending was satisfying, but left me aching for the next book. So much fun, and something I would definitely recommend.
Edstrom spun a fascinating tale of a world underground. I felt as if I was actually living in the city he described. His characters were well rounded and sympathetic. When I first glanced at it and saw that it was about bigfoot I must admit, I kind of rolled my eyes, but the result was unexpected and wonderful. The best "explanation" for bigfeet I can think of. I literally walked away from this book thinking, "yeah, of course that's what bigfeet are."
I'm ready to buy the next book today, and something tells me I'll be reading all of them from this series soon.
